Hello
I am just starting to get into trying gumpaste flowers. Can anyone help me out by offering your tips, tricks, tools, etc?
Or if there's a thread on this, could someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks so much!
Just yesterday, I saw a thread where a great decorator posted a gumpaste/fondant tutorial that she did on Youtube. I only had time yesterday to watch the first video, but I found it very informative and I can't wait to look at the rest of them!
I am going to guess it's under the "How do I?" section of the forums. I don't remember her name right now--(Apologies to the decorator! I'm old!) but it is a very recent post, so you won't have to look too hard. Have fun!
I don't know if my copy/paste just worked but below is tonedna's (That's her name! Of course, I remember now!) post it IS in that section, right at the top, in case the link doesn't work.
So..here I am..I been asked so many times to do tutorials that finally I figure out to do one with my web cam.
I was nervous but there it is..a 4 part series on How to do Gumpaste Calla Lillies. From the tools I use, to how to do the center, and easy way to make the flower(anybody can do it this way) and finally how to use luster and petal dust on your flowers. Lots of info in them.
Go and watch them...leave me comments..let me know How can I do better so I can do other ones for you guys!..
By the way..excuse my accent!
Here is my You tube page..
Thanks!!!...Edna
Thanks, that's a good video, especially the 1st part since it gives you tools and such. That's the idea I'm looking for.
Anyone else, tools, tips? Advice?
Do you just use gumpaste, gumpaste/fondant? pre-mix gumpaste? How long can you keep gumpaste pliable? Can you store it in the fridge, or will I have to make alot of flowers at once to just use it right away?
I thought I read something once about adding gum-tex to gumpaste? Or am i mixing things up?
