Problems With Creme Bouquet

I'm a newbie and after reading so many great posts about creme bouquet, i decided to purchase some from national flavors.

When I used it in my buttercream, my sister said it kind of burnt her taste buds. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue or is she just strange.

I put a little less than 1/8th of a teaspoon in.

Any advice would be helpful.
