I was asked to ship a cake to nyc and I have no idea of where to even begin. Has any one ever shipped a cake before? How is it done and is it very expensive? If it is a two tier do I have to shop the tiers seperate? TIA for the hellp

I haven't done it, but I do ship my candies all over the country. I would definitely package them separately. With the heat, I would ship overnight (that will be pricey) and probably put some ice packs in. I would only ship a fondant cake.
