Ok, so I have tried this new recipe for buttercream and I love the taste and texture of it. The only problem is that I am having a hard time getting the color to blend evenly. It seems like the more I use the color, the more splotchy it is. I think that it may have something to do with the butter not letting the color adhere to it. I really would like for my icing to look more even toned. Please let me know if any of you have any advice or have had the same problem. I use the Wilton icing colors. Help appreciated
I've had this happen before (with both Wilton and Americolors) when trying to get the deep clorors like red, black and navy. And it usually happens after I get the colors in the bags. My suggestion is to add a little cornstartch to it. I think the amount of color messes with the liquid content. If you add alot of water to buttercream it can get funky too.
