Help! I'm making whipped icing and it's like soup, I've never had this happen, how do I fix?????
And which whipped icing would that be?
2 1/2 pints whipping cream
1 lg container cool whip
1box pistachio pudding
1 tbsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp powdered sugar
I've never had this happen with this icing.
did you over whip it? also, if your bowl or attachments are warm it won't work as well. try putting them in the fridge and let them chill then try to whip it up. hope this helps.
Did you let the cool whip dethaw before whipping it? I made a cake last year and made the mistake of dumping the tub of cool whip into the mixer before it was thawed..that whole thing turned to a flat soupy mess too. There was really no way to fix it once that happened, but i learnt a valuable lesson. Sorry to hear you are having problems with it.
I agree with sweetcravings, cool-whip must be totally thawed. If you rush the thawing process and over-stir/mix cool-whip it breaks down and becomes soupy. There is nothing you can do to repair this.
Next time, add the cool-whip last and just fold it in gently.
ok so, the cool whip was thawed and the bowl and beaters where cold. So I must have over whipped it. I have never done that and I did end up starting over. What a waste.
