I mixed up a butter recipe chocolate cake (1 1/3 cup water, 3 eggs, 1 stick butter, softened) ..... and then discovered that I need more. I have other chocolate cake mixes but no "butter recipe" mixes .......... can I make a regular mix the above way and will it turn out fine?

I think they'll be just fine!
