Hi
I have 4 cakes due on Friday June 27th! These are for my nephew and my cousin's son. 1 is the Pokemon Pikachu cake and a pokeball. The other 2 are a smiley face with the party hat on it, then a 3D snake. My nephew is having 2 party's (1 for kids & 1 for family). All will be BC with a few fondant decorations.

I know I can bake ahead & freeze. Any tips on the best way to wrap and seal? I planned to frost with a thin layer of BC while warm. Do I just wrap in waxed paper? I do have a stand up freezer I can use.

Can I decorate on Wed or should do all on Thurs, the day before?

Thanks so much everyone!

I wrap in saran wrap (twice) and then in heavy duty foil before freezing.

Sorry I didnt finish that last post! I decorate the day before the event. Any earlier than that and I fear the cakes will get stale so even if it means staying up very late on friday night for a saturday cake.....

if I have a cake due Saturday, I will defrost on Wednesday, crumb coat on THursday and ice on Friday.

I don't think it would be too bad if you iced a cake or two on Thursday night. The icing kinda "seals" your cake somewhat..
