I am making a ice cream cake for someone and they want it covered and decorated in fondant. CAN I FREEZE THE FONDANT? Will it be to hard to cut through? Will it crack? PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!
Welcome to Cake Central. You can cover the ice cream cake with fondant, but you will need to work very quickly before the ice cream melts. I am not that fast, so I wouldn't do it.
If it was me doing this, I would not have the top layer be ice cream. As it melts, it will melt the fondant. With a cake layer on top, the fondant might stick better.
It won't crack, but it will need a hot, sharp knife to cut it.
