I am new to using fondant. I am making a 2 tier square cake, 13"x13"x4" and 9"x9"x4". How much fondant do you think I will need. I have 2 5lb of Satin Ice and a 2 lb. Will that be enough?

Earlene Moore has a nice chart on her website to help with this.

The chart was very helpful. I ordered the fondant, and found a great price for Satin Ice. The chart indicates that i need 8 lbs for the 13" and 6lbs for the 9". I purchased 7lbs of Satin Ice, and this morning (before the post) I ordered another 5lbs. so that's only 12 lbs and according to the chart i will need 14lbs. I hate to place another order since i can't add to the order i placed this morning. So that would be an additional $10.00 in shipping. I am mainly charging what it costs for the material, but all of the shipping charges are adding up. (this is for a family member) Do you think i could make this work withwhat i have?

ALSO, I forgot i also ordered the fondant mix. If worse comes to worse I could make the fondant that way. Has anyone ever tried it?? The directions sound tricky!
