Ok, this weekend is my husband and my mother's bdays.

I will make a double tiered cake, covered with fondant.

I want something neutral, because it is for both a man and a woman.
And on top of that, it will be my first one, so it must not be too complicated...

I have just no ideas on the coulours,...

Please help...

Polka dots would work and they're super easy. Also, you can roll fondant into balls and use that for your border. Maybe do one layer with polka dots and another with stripes? Stripes are easy to (I just can't cut a straight line for the life of me! icon_redface.gif )

I did a graduation cake that had stripes and stars in a black and gold color theme. (in my photos) The cakes are covered in bc but the accents are fondant.
