I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but does anyone know why when I put dots on my cookies they sometimes fall off?

This one's got my puzzled!

Thanks!

It might help to know what the dots are made of.

too dry (stiff) icing--- needs to be wet enough to "glue" on, I bet

I've had the problem of dots falling off also. The consistency might be too stiff but when it's thinner, the dots spreads too much. It's a delima (sp?).

Yep-- drives me nuts because it just happens to some of them.

"johnson6ofus" is right. Your icing is too dry. You have to hit that perfect middle point of it not being to dry or not being too wet/liquid. Good luck!
