I just made a triple batch of doctored cake mix and baked 2 10" and 2 8" cakes. I realized after that I didn't put the butter in the mix. I did used the doctored cake mix that adds 1 cup sour cream per mix.

Will this work. It will be served on Sunday.

All that I could suggest at this point is to taste the cake and see what you think.

I agree, trim it up and give it a taste test.

ditto. butter/oil is pretty darn important

Actually we served them and they were fine. My cakes are usually super moist so these were about average. I guess the sour cream and pudding made up for it.
