How many hours before the reception do you set up the cake? It will be all butter cream icing, 4 stacked tiers.

The wedding starts at 6pm but we are guests at the wedding too and we need to get ourselves to the hotel and changed/dressed etc.

I have no idea how to do this. If we set up too early I'm afraid it will be too soft by the time the wedding starts.

Will it be inside or outside? BC in an indoor venue with A/C should be fine for hours - it should not get too soft.

You could set it up quite a while before the wedding - maybe 2 pm or so to make sure you aren't rushed and then still have time to get ready.

Thank you for your reply. It is an inside venue and the AC will be on. We have to travel an hour with it so I was hoping for an earlier set up and time to relax.
