I am looking for a good shortbread recipe for cookie wedding favors that someone might share with me.
Also, how do you keep the colors from bleeding. They seem to bleed after about a week. What works best? Royal icing or egg powder?

Welcome to Cake Central. Typically, shortbread is a bit fragile for favors. A good sugar cookie, well flavord, is probably safer.

The 'no fail' sugar cookie in the recipe section, and the article about cookies provides a cookie will hold its shape and stay on the stick. there are a couple of other very good recipes, including Martha Stewarts rolled sugar cookie recipe.

As for icing, once it is dry, it won't bleed. Let one color dry completely before adding another.
