Hi,

I have a potential customer who would like a number one shaped cake for her soon to be one year old boy. It needs to feed 30. What size of pan do I use and how to make the one? I have a cross pan that i was thinking of cutting off the sides, any other ideas?

I think you should use your cross pan and cut the shape. It won't be enough to feed 30 if it's the size pan I'm thinking of. I suggest a sheet cake w/ the "1" cake on top.

You can use some of the left over cross for the smash cake too!

I just did a "30" and I made a template out of computer paper, but any paper would work of a 3 & a number 1. Baked 2 sheet cakes (I did 2 11x15's,which are big) For 30 people you could use 1--12x18 sheet. Once the cakes cooled, lay your pattern on top and trim. Look in the galleries under numbers, there are some very nice decorating ideas!
