I know it probably has been ask before, but I just dont have time to search. How far in advance can you make a sculpted cake that is covered in mmf, also does the fondant get hard? Last week I made calla lilies that dried hard in a day. Any help would be great.

it can stay out as long as any other cake. I would say 2-3 days in advance is about as long as I want to go.

The fondant should remain soft when it is on the cake. The moisture from the cake and icing is probably what keeps it from getting hard. MMF seems like it dries out a bit more than satin ice from my experience though.

It should be used within three days.

The mmf will not get too hard to cut when it's on the cake. The buttercream layer helps it to stay moist.

Merissa and Texas-rose, thanks thats exactly what I needed to know, just one more question, if I make it a couple of days in advance, where should I store it?
