I am doing a cake for a friend's birthday next Saturday.
She wants an orange cake covered in rolled fondant but doesn't like buttercream.

Do you have any suggestions??

Many thanks for any ideas or tips!

how about brushing the cake with orange marmalade that has been strained of orange pieces?

I made fondant capped cupcakes and used apricot glaze to stick it down with. Just heat your preserves and strain the fruit bits out, brush on and cover with your fondant. I think any preserve or jam would work, but orange marmalade or apricot would compliment your cake.

Worked great and tasted wonderful!

Many thanks, i didn't remember that you could do this.

I just hope my cake won't come out with too many imperfections showing. That's what's good about buttercream! it hides the imperfections!

Than you icon_smile.gif
