My church recently built a new kitchen and it would be perfect for me to use to become legal. but they have concerns because being a church they are tax free and if I would be using the kitchen for a buisness they are afraid they would lose their tax exemption...
I don't even know what the first step would be IF this would be a possibility but the kitchen is PERFECT and I would love it if this would work out!
does anyone know what i need to do in this situation as far as what needs to be done, like inspections, or licences or anything... I really have no idea!

I don't believe the church would lose it's tax exempt status as you would be renting the kitchen. Our church rents space to a senior group.

My understanding is the kitchen still has to be a licensed kitchen. You will probably have to check with your state to see what those requirements are. When our church ran a soup kitchen it had to be licensed. HTH
