I couldn't find the orange cake mix, so I need to make my own using the WASC recipe. Do I simply replace the water with orange juice or half it? Thank you!!
Sounds like a good idea to me. You could replace half or all - depends how strong of an orange flavor you want. But either should work.
Adding some orange zest would be good too!
Orange juice isn't very concentrated, so your orange flavor is going to be mild. Adding orange zest will help.
I use DH orange cake mix and still add McCormick orange extract so that the orange flavor is discernible.
Frosted with Rich's Bettercreme, this combo yields a dreamsicle cake.
