My doctor told me I have to severly cut down on sugar because my blood sugar and insulin levels are out of control. But I can't give up cake!
Has anyone tried Pillbury's 50% Less Sugar mixes? Do they bake the same? How do they taste? What about texture?
YES I TRIED THEM. THEY BAKE THE SAME , THE TASTE IS JUST AS GOOD AS THE REGURAL MIXES. THE TEXURE IS JUST THE SAME. MY HUSBAND HAS TO WATCH HIS SUGAR SO I MAKE IT FOR HIM. I WILL BE BAKING HIM A CAKE TODAY FOR HIS BIRTHDAY TOMORROW. MAKE IT AND ENJOY, JUST DON'T EAT TO MUCH. IT DOES HAVE 10 % SUGAR IN IT.
I've used them they bake up just like the regular ones. Slpenda and Equal have some good recipes but, most of tem show using 9x9 cake pans. The reduced sugar mixes do the regular sheet cake pan. I'm doing our anni cake a double layer using them this year.
