I have been asked to to a 3-D whale cake. I think I can figure that part out but I have no idea what to charge for it. It will be covered in fondant & on a cake board to look like water, probably in buttercream. Any ideas how to make it look like water is coming out of the blow hole??? LOL this one ought to be fun. Thanks for your input on this one.

Hey Cake Bud. The cost of any Fondant Design that size should include you efforts, & not just for ingredient costs. You should let your minimum amt. be $50. That's a considerable amount if you're Home-based. Anything less is doing you no justice, especially to replinish stuff afterwards. For the "Blow-hole" may I suggest Plastic-Wrap? You could roll it & snip it until it gets frilled like a Pom-pom. Then put some clear gel on the whale like tiny drops of water for added effect. HTH & good luck!
