Hi I am making a double batch of WASC cake. Thinking I had enough Sour cream and Yogurt, well the sour cream was expired. So i only have 1 cup of yogurt. everything else is already in the mixer. What can I throw in to make up that extra cup??? Some vanilla pudding??? What do you think about trying a new flavor. I have strawberry yogurt??Help!!!

I would think anything with that same consistency: vanilla pudding, strawberry yogurt, even mayo.

you could probably sour some milk and use that. how far out of date is the sour cream if its only a coulpe of days you can still use it

Sour cream is a cultured product, that, yogurt, and buttermilk are good plenty long after the expiration date. Just make sure it doesn't look ot taste spoiled.
