I know my post number is low, but I have been lurking here for many weeks. I have combined two of my favorite pasttimes, art and baking, I have sooo many egg yolks in my refridgerator from making WASC cakes that I have the market on cholestorol cornered. I have found so many frosting recipes here that I have emptied the shelves at my local grocer of confectioners sugar( the shelf stockers are starting to look at me funny) I should have bought stock in a dairy farm for how much butter I have used in the last month. I could put all the diabetics into shock with how much sugar I have used. If I bring one more cake to work, those women are going to have me fired and make me pay for them all to join weight watchers. My daughter has started telling her friends that if she needs to find me all she has to do is look for the glow from the computer screen in my office, "she with those cake friends again!!!" And tonite I tried SMBC and used raspberry chamborgue to flavor it.....I gotta go bake a cake. HELP ME... Is there a cake central anonymous "Hi my name is Maryj and I'm a cake decorating-aholic" It's all you peoples fault icon_wink.gif

Oh yes! Addiction at it's finest! My family pretty refuses to go with me anywhere. I see cakes all over the place. It's really quiet sad!

You get used to it tho...ok not really, but you learn to keep the "HEY! that would make am AWESOME cake!" comments to yourself!

Yes, my name is Joyce & I'm a CC addict! "you say, HI Joyce" I say "Hi, & thank you for having me here in your group" (although I don't think any of us are in recovery!!! icon_sad.gif! LOL - It's great to be here with the rest of my overdosed sugar nuts!!! I may be a nut but I'm screwed to the right bolt. icon_smile.gif I luv this site & all the info that I have learned. It keeps me excited about making more cakes. I'm sending samples to work with everyone I know so they can rate my cakes. "No cake if no rate" is my motto. Maybe I will start selling samples to pay for the ingredients---Hmmmm, not a bad idea. Sorry, so long. Got carried away. C-ya at the next CA meeting (Cakes Anonymous)

Welcome to Cake Central Maryj. This is a good place to hang out. My family has learned my habits also. Every time I bake a new cake or make a new kind of icing, they immediately ask me if I got that recipe from "that cake web site" LOL.

I don't have a cake business and I only bake for family and friends. I have been wanting to try my hand at a wedding cake but haven't had the opportunity. So, yesterday I bake a tiered cake and decorated it in red, white, and blue and sent it to a local military base. I needed my "fix" of cake decorating and I had wayyyyyy too much cake. When all else fails, donate cake or visit the neighbors to drop off cake

Yes, it is addicting but so well worth it!!! Again, welcome and have fun! icon_lol.gif

Oh, Honey, there are people who are members here for years, and have not posted a darn thing! And there are others (I just saw one the other day) calling herself a Newbie, when she joined in 2006, but never posted a response to anything. Suddenly, after lurking and sucking down all our knowledge, she needs help, so who does she go to? Us, of course!

So please do not feel bad because you have been here a few weeks without posting. There are others who are far more guilty than you.

Now, my suggestion is to make some class buttercream by Wilton, turn your cake pan upside-down, and practice your piping skills on the back of the pan.

Save the recipe experimentation for a once-a-week thing. At the cost of gasoline, nobody can afford to go to the store as often as you are.

And welcome to the forum.

maryj~ first off, try the 'original' WASC recipe. You now won't have any yolks with this recipe. Your job is very spoiled since MY job never tires of my treats! The way I figure it is...better THEY gain the weight than me!

I actually chased a girl down the mall to stop her and tell her that her dress would make a great cake! Ironically, her mom called me for a birthday cake for this girl in the dress pattern!! icon_lol.gif

michellesart~ OMG just once a day????? You are far from being an addict!! Ask any of us who's houses are begging for a cleaning, kids are getting thin from lack of food (I'm just kidding on this one!); husbands who only see the back of our heads; and laundry piling up.

Ha, ha. You will become one of us!!

hahaha! I so agree! I'm finally breaking down and getting internet at the shop .... even tho' I tell everyone how much work I actually get done when I don't have access to CC!!! I go to sleep with my laptop next to the bed and before I get up to go pee in the morning, I pick up the laptop and check CC!

I am pitiful!!

diamonds, it's the round cake with the red circles in my pics. It was only my second time working with fondant and I didn't have the right cutters. But the family drove 70+ miles (one way!) to get this cake and paid $75 for a 10" round .... I had given them a $30 discount since they drove so far.

Oh, dear. I'm afraid I'm addicted too. The other day my dh was laughing at me because I had CC on the computer in the bedroom, a cake in the oven, and Food Network on the living room TV. I really don't know what I did with my life before I discovered cakes (and CC in particular)!

You think it would get better with time, but it doesn't. I've been on CC for almost a year and am even more addicted than I originally was. Don't worry your family will get used to it, jst like they get used to a new baby in the house.....sometimes CC needs some attention too!! icon_lol.gif

Haha! I can relate all too well! I'm sitting here typing while my kitchen overflows with dishes from the royal icing sun rays I've been working on for two days icon_biggrin.gif . Yesterday at church, I found myself staring at a woman's chest because she had on a bright pink shirt with a black design that would make a beautiful cake icon_eek.gif . Welcome to the club!

In our house, we used to call Chuck E. Cheese "CC" so that DD didn't know what we were talking about. One night we were out to dinner, and DS said "Are we going to CC after this?" I looked at him and said,"What did you say about Cake Central?" DS just looked at me like I was crazy icon_wink.gif
