I prefer to make my own fondant but in the interest of saving some time is it possible to flavor premade like satin ice or would it ruin it? In not a hugh fan of the taste of most of it but if it can be doctored to improve taste it would save some time
I've only done that once. I flavored vanilla Satin Ice with maple extract. It tasted really good, but I put a little too much extract in it and it was a bit sticky. I had to add some powdered sugar to it.
Maybe someone else here has done it more often and can give you more of an idea how it worked for them.
