Has anyone determined the measurement required for sugarshack's buttercream recipe in a 6 quart kitchenaid mixer? I don't bake often enough to create that much icing for testing purposes.

Thanks so much!

I start out with 1 1/4 cups of water, 6 cups of shortening and 6# of powdered sugar. Everything else the same. It took me a while to figure out why I didn't get a full bowl of icing with her recipe and was getting air in my icing.....then, like a ton of bricks it hit me....6 quart bowl, not 5!!! I LOVE this recipe for icing. It is the only one I use nowicon_wink.gif

thanks yffrank. I figured it was about 6 cups or more..but thought it might be more if the bowl was designed differently. Thanks again. I will have to try it.

I have been using the wilton half butter/shortening with lots of butter and vanilla flavor and everyone seems to like it.

I guess I will have to do a taste test to find out which one people like best.

Thanks again! icon_biggrin.gif
