Help: Made my first communion cake, chocolate and cake would not frost with crumb coat. Kept it out for a day to dry, tried to frost and it still crumbled. Has anyone had this horrible experience? Frustrated. When I finally got the coat on the final coat had to be heavy. HELP!

Did you thin your crumb coat icing? That really helps a lot.
