Theresa here, your emcee for the Beach and Nautical Cake Decorating Throwdown!

Our contestants have worked hard to get your attention and win your vote, so let's get down to business! And, as always, ALLEZ CAKE!

Descriptions:

Contestant 1

Nantucket Summer

This is a representation of a day at the beach and the signs are Nantucket township signs. The finish is all buttercream with crushed graham crackers for the "sand". All of the detail work is made from gumpaste including the chairs and the fence (even the "wire" that holds the posts together). The only non-edible part is the wire that holds the teeny rosa rugosa flowers and leaves and grass together.

Contestant 2

Seahorses with Waves

8" and 10" tiers on a 12" silver cake plate; white chocolate seashells, and seahorses; fondant finish and flowers painted blue; wave lines painted with silver luster dust; and the center support dowels are covered in white chocolate "coral."

I just love these throwdowns! The creativity is awesome! These cakes are incredible! It is so hard to decide! Excellent work!

out of all the throwdowns this was the hardest one for pick to choose the one I prefer! They are both incredibly well done and so creative.

Loved the beach chairs and little signs... the whole style fits with the Nantuket theme ... super casual and laidback

but also loved the super cute seahorses and fabulous coral seperator!

Both of these cakes are soooo beautiful. You have made it very difficult to decide! I wish I could vote for both of them.

These are so awesome! I love the adirondack chairs and also love the coral and seahorses. Another very difficult decision!

This entry was the most difficult for me to decide on. Both are extremely wonderful! They both had calming effects on me Congrats to both of you talented CCers.

I have one small critique. I can't click on the Nantucket cake to see the details better. I would have liked to see a bigger picture.

Both , are absolutely gorgeous. On a side note I will be doing a wedding cake in Oct that is going to be VERY close to the first submission down to the chairs as the topper (already have them and they are adorable). It's nice to get an idea of what the cake is going to look like...lol gmta!
