How Many Cake Mixes Fill A 12X12X3 Square Pan?

I cannot find my chart anywhere...I am thinking 2 will suffice. Does someone have a quick answer to this???

I am not sure how much help I will be as I find each cake mix brand to yield different amounts of batter. I can tell you what I would use though.

I use DH w/one egg and box of pudding added for a consistent yeild of 6 cups/mix. So according to the wilton chart http://www.wilton.com/cake/cakeprep/baking/times/index.cfm I will need 14 cups so for me that would be about 2 1/2 cake mixes. If I don't use the pudding I would need closer to the 3.

I know the Betty Crocker typically yeilds 4 1/2-5c so again around 3 boxes.

Thats what I thought. I only have 2 (BC) but I added a cup of sour cream a 1/2 cup of choclate sauce and used chocolate milk as the liquid, so it should cook up nice. if it comes down to it, I will run over and uy 2 more and cook them up as well and then layer them together...lol
