How Much Vinegar & What Kind To Keep Bc Creamy?

I need to make a bunch of buttercream (1/2 crisco 1/2 butter) but I want it creamy instead of crusting. I heard I can add vinegar, but how much and are we talking cider vinegar or white vinegar????? PLEASE HELP.
