Hey Ya'll,
I can't seem to figure out how my cookes turned out with dark spots on them. I used a SC recipe with Antonias icing. The cookies were cooled completely and the icing was made per the recipe. I made the icing red for Spiderman cookies. They all have little dark spots on them, maybe air bubbles trapped underneath the icing. I dunno! Have any of you ever had this happen? Any way of avoiding it next time?
Thanks so much!

When I've had this problem it was usually one of two things. I didn't mix my shortening long enough or my coloring was old. Since I started using Americolors I have not had this problem. I've also been told it can be caused from hard water and if this happens use bottled water or milk in your icing.
