I'm wanting to make a cake like this fabulous cake by Kitagrl. She so generously gave me instructions and said she carved it out of 9" and 10" round cakes.

My question is how many cakes would you think I would need in order to feed 35-40 People?

I THINK IF YOU SAT HER ON ANOTHER 10 OR 12 PLATFORM CAKE YOU WOULD HAVE PLENTY. YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE SOME SERVINGS WHEN YOU CARVE THE HEAD AND BODY.

Yeah I agree, easiest way, sit her on top of another large square or round cake, you'd have to put some dowels under her also I should think.

So how many cakes total. I didn't ask the creator this.
