Cookie Cake...need Help!!!!!

I have never sold a cookie cake before. I have made several of them for my own family with left over icing, but I have not tried to be too serious with them because they were for fun. So, now I need to know the basics.

What kind of pan do you bake it in. What do you do when the edges swell up? Do you smash them while warm, like a sugar cookie so you have a flat surface? What kind of box do you put them in? I am unable to get a pizza box around here and don't have time to order it. I have a basic design in mind, but if anyone know of any great decorators to get inspiration, I would love it. I think I am going to make a beach theme with bright colors, a palm tree, sand, ocean, and flip flops (which are on the napkins). Do you just put them on a cake round??

Then I am making flip flop, ice cream cone and maybe palm tree cookies to go with it.

I just really need to do this right and appreciate any help, even if it seems like I should know something.

I have used the Wilton cookie cake pan - the big round one with the low sides. I guess you could probably use any pan, now that I think of it. My sides didn't swell up, so I didn't have that problem. I didn't use a pizza box, just used a regular cake box and put the cookie on a cake board.

I used a disposable pizza pan. Use what you have. I out it on a cake round that I had doubled for stability. After it was decorated, in to a cake box.
