I realize this is cake site but there are so many good bakers/cooks on this site I have to ask. Does anyone have a good cherry pie recipe using the canned cherry pie filling?
Thanx!

Does it have to have canned cherry pie filling?

Because I have to say my cherry pie recipe using canned tart cherries (not cherry pie filling) is amazing...it should be, since it is my grandmothers. And it is so EASY. Put the juice from the can in the pan, add the sugar and flour, whisk, heat to a rolling boil, add butter, remove from heat, add the cherries, put in your pie crust and top with pie crust and bake.

I think I have the cherry pie filling at home. I know that I didn't pickup the canned cherries in the canned fruit aisle at Wal-Mart. Your recipe sounds good, ziggytarheel.

Can you tell us the measures? I'm one of those people that need specifics...Thanks!!
