There is a princess called Giselle from the movie Enchanted.

I have a request for a filled cake to serve 40, probably 2 tiers, where she wants to use the barbie doll Giselle (but not a "doll cake") with some woods around or maybe Giselle sitting on a well with her feet inside.

I found an image of Giselle's house in the woods that I could blow up as an edible image, but any ideas how I could stand that up and put the actual barbie doll into the scene somehow on top of the cake? She doesn't want anything flat.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Im's not sure about servings but could you do like a 10 or 9 inch base, and then a 6 or 5 inch top tier, make your edible image of the house (maybe out of royal icing, so it won't melt like bc can), and prop that against the top tier so that it is standing up. Decorate the smaller tier so that it looks like trees and flowers around the house. I don't know how you could get the doll to stand, but you could just set it down on the cake.

I haven't yet done it myself, but you could make a fondant/sugarpaste "plaque" and apply your edible image of the house to that, with popsickle sticks to go into the cake and hold that up. Then the doll could possibly be propped against the plaque.

I think maybe there is an article or tutorial about making the plaque by Boween.

What if you did this with your edible image....

then made a two layer, six or seven inch round cake to look like the wishing well..... put Barbie in there like she was sitting on the edge of it......

How about a 3 tier cake decorated as a 'enchanted forest' and Giselle sitting on the second tier with her feet/legs hanging down? icon_confused.gificon_biggrin.gif
Or make the top tier the well wall and the lower tiers grassy woodland with Giselle sitting on the well or below?!
Just a thought! icon_biggrin.gif

Maybe you can make the top tier using an angel food pan and decorate it with a stone pattern to be the well. The doll can sit on that. Then maybe put that on top of a tier that is decorated to look like grass with the flowers and maybe some tiny butterflies, a stone path leading up to the well. You could even have vines/flowers spilling down the side of the well.

There are some interesting cakes in the gallery, maybe you'll get some ideas from them.

There is a section in the gallery for fantasy cakes.
