My dh runs out for whatever I need, and will do the laundry (wash, dry, hang - no folding or putting away) if I'm busy. i can never ask him if what i made looks good, cause he will rant and rave about it no matter what it looks like....

My husband is my biggest supporter. He gives me 'ideas' and is honest if he thinks something doesn't look just right with my cakes. He will drive me to events so I can 'babysit' my larger cakes in the back of the car and he also helps to carry them into the building. There are lots of things I coundn't do without him. icon_wink.gif

My husband is great! He buys supplies for me for nearly every cake order I receive. He helps me with construction issues, tells me when to leave well enough alone, and helps with our two sons while I work. He is very supportive. He, too, knows when I push myself too hard and reminds me often to take it easy. He gives great advice!!
I know this post is about husbands, but I have to mention, my dad is my biggest fan and a huge support to me. He tells everyone that not only are my cakes unusual and beautifu, that they are delicious too! He goes with me on large cake deliveries. He helped me deliver my first wedding cake this weekend. He is such a calm person, he is great help in times of need! He also prints all of my cake photos for me. He is a great dad and wonderful cake helper! I am a very blessed woman to have such great men in my life!! thumbs_up.gif

My husband is so encouraging! We have been married for 13 years. He is such a blessing. He is my "cake carrier" my "honest" opinion, taste tester, cleaner upper and is always saying how creative I am. I can't tell you how many nights he has stayed up with me helping me clean up and just keeping me company. Thank our Lord God for such wonderful husbands! I am truly blessed! (He is not bad on the eyes either!!) icon_biggrin.gif

When I met my husband, he was working in a bakery, so he had done stuff with cakes before I ever started trying. He's not good at making or baking, just decorating...I can get help from him, but everything has to be already made, colored, icing bags filled, etc... He's got better handwriting on a cake than I do...but worse spelling icon_biggrin.gif He likes to roll fondant and always talks about wanting to build some huge, really extreme cake...but so far has never gone beyond the talking stage. He buys whatever I say I need for a cake, without making a fuss. He will taste test everything, even when I don't want him to. He takes very nice pictures of my cakes, and has them all on his phone, and shows them to everyone.

He doesn't do dishes, though, or cook dinner when I'm working on a big project.

Can I marry you? Seriously. My DH thinks that helping is by saying "It's good" to everything is helpful, and that fingers in a client's cake is acceptable. UGH!!!!

The absolute best help that I get from my DH when I'm doing cakes is that he cleans the house and washes and folds clothes.

He does help with coloring and cutting fondant, making bags, getting things together for delivery, sometimes loading cakes in car (I am terribly anal about that one and prefer to do it myself), preparing pans AND giving me design ideas ONLY when I ask.

Gosh, I love him!

My husband is the greatest. He is my biggest fan. When I think there is no way I am going to be able to do this project. He is the first to tell "Oh yes you can". I never have to ask him anything because you can bet he has already asked me if there is something he can do. He will tell me if something needs to be done a different way but always in a delicate way. I don't think I have had to clean up the kitchen myself after I have finished a cake yet. Usually I run right up to the deadline and have to throw everything in the car and run to a delivery. By the time I get back he has everything cleaned up and ready to go to the next one. I never have to worry about doing housework or cooking dinner he handles everything. I have the greatest support in my husband I could ever hope for. Oh yeah did I mention he just had back surgery 4 weeks ago. He loves what I do and he has big plans for me.

We actually got engaged while making a wedding cake!

My husband's a chef, and agreed to do a friends wedding cake. Unfortunately he can't bake or decorate to save his life, so I ended up doing all the decorating, frosting etc. while he made all the frostings/fondants, and trips to the store (he also took the Wilton classes with me!). It was approx 5am the morning of the wedding while I was painting wings on gumpaste butterflies that he actually got on one knee and proposed!
I was sooo tired and focused on what I was doing, I just called him a dork. We ended up laughing for a good 5 minutes. Now every time we do a wedding cake I joke about what kind of jewelry I'll get out of it! He's really the best helper a girl could ask for, darn good chef too.

When it comes to the kitchen my husband is the master! icon_biggrin.gif He loves to cook and bake. I don't! icon_sad.gif He is the main baker in my home, I'm the decorator! princess.gif and I love it that way. I only do cakes on the weekend cause I am a full time nurse and if he happens to be off he's making the cakes. icon_lol.gif He is a blessing, I think I would have killed him by now if he was an ordinary guy that did not like to bake. icon_lol.gif I'm crazy in the kitchen. He calls me the cake natzi. I am so anal and a perfectionist it drives me and him crazy icon_cry.gif so to make a long story short, YES my husband is a must in the kitchen, but not allowed to touch the cake after it's iced! icon_twisted.gif

My DH is willing to help out with whatever I ask him to do. Some things he's good at, some not so good, but he's always willing to learn and try anything. Only 'issue' we have is once I show him how to do something, if it doesn't work out, he wants to experiment with new techniques to accomplish the same task. That's no biggie, but as we all know sometimes we just don't have the extra time or patience for trying do something that's fairly simple (or second nature) to us. I love that he's so willing to help though; his best yet? He's a total perfectionist so I can always get a totally honest opinion and he's great at figuring out how to fix those little things that drive me crazy!!!! This was probably the wrong topic for me to stumble upon- Ican go on and on about my sweetie. He cooks, cleans, does laundry, lifts all my totally heavy cakes, helps assemble, tells me when a new recipe is totally nasty and helps me hold it together when ' this didn't urn out right and I don't know how to fix it'. Thank God for great husbands!!!

My FI is my biggest supporter. He helps mostly by buying me all my cake supplies! Right now, he really wants to take the Wilton classes, with, or without, me. I think he kind of wants to help with the actual decorating, but doesn't know where to even begin and like AmyGonzalez, I'm way too anal to have him in my kitchen (it must be an Amy thing icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif ). For now, he can continue to watch our kiddos while I'm in cake mode and give me awesome back/foot rubs after I've finished a cake. thumbs_up.gif

My DH is kind of funny. He likes to complain a lot about all the time I spend on my cakes, then when someone comes over he is all of a sudden my biggest fan! He gets out my cake photo album, or turns on the computer to show-off all my cakes! On those occasions he is my biggest fan! Go figure! icon_cool.gif

My hubby does everything! He makes my fondant, icing, bakes my cakes. Does my dishes, etc. He is so helpful I can't complain. icon_biggrin.gif If I don't have the energy to continue or even start, he steps in and does it. I especially love the massages I get after i'm done!! icon_smile.gif He goes and buys everything I need and when I have to do a cake that I am worried about he says " I've seen you do better or more detailed" He never complains about buying new things and he is always trying to get me customers and he helped me book a wedding cake and two birthday cakes in 20 minutes. I am so blessed and definitley wouldn't trade him for anything in the world.

My dh is always asking if there is anything he can do to help. He always runs to the store for me at the last minute when I forget something. He makes all my cake boards, and puts all my boxes together. He will not let me clean up the kitchen after I get through with any project. He says he is the official "cleaner upper". When I make deliveries he has to go with me. When I have a late night he keeps me company even though he does fall asleep occasionally. He's always there to be my support when I think I bake another cake. I have my own cheering section. LOL After 27 years of marriage I couldn't do this without him. I am very blessed.

My husband is so supportive of what I do. At first he acted like this was just another face of mine, but when he realized I was serious he became my biggest support.
He helps me wraping the cardboard bases, taking down cake stands and pillars, (They are at the top of my laundry room), cutting the boards from wood, he goes shopping with me, cuts dowels, carries heavy cakes, tints icing, helps me make cookie dough balls, and sugar them, washes dishes, sweeps my workshop floor, and the best part for me is he cooks on weekends (and some nights) when I have a lot of work. He organizes my teenagers so they help too. He pushed me to buy a bigger and better oven, he goes on deliveries with me, he gives me a lot of ideas and helps me when my KA needs maintenance. He prints my photos, and some paperwork I use, he helps putting bussiness cards on the tables of big events. He helps me take desitions and pushes me when I'm scared to do new things. And he gives me massages when I'm finished on a very tough weekend. He even built me a work shop so I can put the big oven I bought. And he wants me to teach him to decorate so he can help me.

He is my engineering support, and quality control mgr. icon_lol.gif

My husband is the greatest!! He does everything for me. He runs the errands, makes icing, takes pictures, dishes, delivers, & of course, taste tests!! He is also my biggest supporter. He promotes more business for me than I do. I couldn't do it without him!!! icon_biggrin.gif

My hubby is really just good for moral support, lavish complements and neck nuzzles at the WORST possible time! LOL Oh, and he's the official cake-top-disposal unit. Him and our dog. icon_lol.gif

My MIL, on the other hand, is our resident neat freak. She tends to wait (hover) until I need to sit down and and give my back a break, then comes in and quickly cleans up behind me. I'm the type that will have three extra mixer bowls so I don't have to stop to wash one before starting the next batch of whatever, so having her do this is an incredible help. (She lives with us, so her 'contribution' to the household is cleaning up. Yay! I haven't had to clean my own house in 5 years now...)

Wow, I've only read one page of posts, but you guys are so lucky to have husbands who do all that AND some even give massages afterwards!! That's incredible!

My hubby is supportive, and will help with anything when asked, but I don't ask very often. When I did my first 3D cake he emailed a photo around all his friends - he was pretty proud of that one!!

This is great, it's so nice to hear all these DH (and DW!) compliments! My hubby is the ultimate sales man for me, getting orders etc. So supportive. He has tried to help me bake cakes but always thinks he has better ideas than the recipe calls for and adds stuff, they just dont taste right. He does all the cooking in the house, I do the baking and we are all happy!

My fiance is always willing to help, however, I tend to overwhelm myself and not ask for it. When I finally do break down at midnight or later, he helps with making icing or cleaning up my disaster. He also helps me deliver the cakes. IMHO I've got a great guy for being willing to stay up with me and just sit there watching me, letting me snap at him when I'm stressed, and for being willing to help me with whatever he can no mater how late it is.

princess.gif My DH is my greatist acheivement in life. I couldn't do any of this without him. Even though he doesn't actually help with the baking/decorating, although he says I need to teach him some things so he can help, he does any and everything else for me that I might need. From running to the cake shoppe or grocery store for ________ (missing ingredient of the day), to making dinner, cleaning up, shuffeling the kids, grandkids, and bringing me a cocktail to lift my spirits. He, our son, and son in law, built a mini kitchen in the basement so I could have a space all to myself. He's my cheering section, marketing director.....I could go on and on.
I am very blessed.

my dh is an artist and draws a lot better than i do ... he mixes my colors, colors my fondant, and does all the fondant work for me (cutting shapes and things out, helping me make figures and stencils). he says helping me has given him a lot more respect for what Duff does icon_smile.gif and i think he has fun, whether he'll admit it or not. icon_biggrin.gif for his 26th birthday we did a chainsaw shaped cake (it's in my photos) and he REALLY got into that project. made all the little fondant chainsaw "accoutrements" while I baked, colored icing, carved and iced. he did let me put all the little dragees on it, though i think that was more of a "this is tedious work, let her do it" sort of thing icon_wink.gif

OMG! I think your hubby is my boyfriend!!! ha ha ha.

My b/f is my hero!
He has a great sense of taste so every time I come up with a new recipe he has to approve it.
He has a love/ hate relation with my cakes and CC because of the time I spend on both, but heâs my #1 fan and my bigger critic (which I appreciateâ¦sometimes).

He doesnât help me making the cakes but he knows everybody in town and helps with the publicity on my business, gives out tons of business cards and heâs my photographer, emergency buyer and delivery boy!

I couldnât do this without his help.

My DH cuts all the dowels, cuts masonite to use as cake boards and even makes wooden boxes with removable front panels and slide off tops to use to deliver cakes. He never actually touches any of the cakes.

Best of all, because he was a sailor, he will suggest some spicy words for me to use when the cake decorating is going all wrong! On my own I can only come up with darn it and jimminy crickets.

He can sometimes look at things in a different way that is better than what I planned on doing. He even made me a cake for my B-day.(its the fondant heart in my picts). Best of all he is my best friend.
