Making A Box Lid, Need Help

Can anyone tell me how to make a box lid.

I have a request for a Tiffany box cake and need assistance.

You should add gumtex to the fondant first to make the fondant harden better. Then roll out the fondant. Take a square cake pan and turn it upside down. Then cover it with fondant having some overhang for the lid lip. Let it harden over night and then pop it lose. You may want crisco or something on the pan to keep the fondant from sticking.

I do the same thing as Jen does.. except for a few exceptions.. I put press n seal on the pan (saran wrap would work well also) .. dust it with cornstarch and mold my gp (I use straight GP for this) to the pan...while it is on the pan I shape the bottom of the lid in the fashion I want it and let it dry. I let mine dry sometimes for a week.. but even a little bit longer is better icon_smile.gif HTH's
