Anyone ever try to make a gumpaste corner for their square cakes? I'm frustrated since the corners seem to slope down a little and break off....... so the corners end up not being as crisp.

So I am trying rolling out gum paste, forming over the corner of the cake pan and when it hardens to place it on the corners of the cake (after frost, before fondant) so it is sharper.

Anyone try this? Do you think it will work?

So I tried it and my square cakes came out the best ever!!!!!!

I rolled out the gumpaste paper THIN and formed over the outside corner of a magic line cake pan and let them dry. (I figured out to put a piece of saran wrap down over the corner so it doesn't stick to the pan).

Made a nice little corner and after frosting I put the corner on each of the corners of my square cake, fondant on top.
