Wasc - Which Cake Mix Do You Use?

We were making mini cupcakes yesterday for an upcoming event and had grabbed 8 boxes of Pillsbury cake mix. Due to the quantity we needed, we went with this brand since it was 10 cents less than DH.
So after the first set came out of the oven we noticed they didn't smell as fragrant as usual. We made a second round and let the first batch cool and tasted them - nothing. Hardly any flavor! The texture was different as well.
Since these were to be served at a fairly high-profile event we decided to stop, dump the batter and went to the store for DH mix. What a difference! The flavor was back, they smelled wonderful.
Lesson learned - thumbs_up.gif

Always use the best quality products for favourable results.

When I use a mix I use DH. You get more batter from the DH mix compared to others also.

I love the betty crocker mixes! I always find them on sale and to me, they are more moist icon_smile.gif
