How do I make a sign type cake topper for a baby shower cake. Kind of so it looks like a scroll (curled on the edges)- does that even make sense??

Fondant or gumpaste?

I'd like to write "welcome baby" on it. Can I just use one of those Wilton decorating pen type things?

THANKS!!!

Best to make it out of gum paste or 50/50 mix gumpaste fondant, then it can be kept as a 'keepsake' as it will last pretty much forever!
You can get scroll shaped cutters like this one:

but cheaper to cut it out of card and use that as a template to cut round! icon_smile.gif Unless your skilled at writting in icing then the edible markers are the way to go! thumbs_up.gif

I also use a 50/50 mix because it's pliable and doesn't dry too quickly but is sturdy when dried.
