I am making the Wilton 3d Cruiser and stacking it on a large sheet cake. I have never done anything like this before! I am planning on using pound cake.

My question is, how should I assemble this? Do I need to use dowel rods to support it? I assume I will need to, but thought I would ask for advice.

You treat each as a seperate caek - each on a board of it's own. The car will have to be on a board because you will need to dowel the lower cake to hold it up. You can make that board a bit smaller than the cake so it does not show yet have some place to put the dowels.
