Ok I have covered cakes with fondant(store bought) and had NO problems. I use the MMF, and am having all sorts of troubles. I make it and it looks great. I go to roll it out and no matter how much corn starch or powdered sugar I sprinkle under it, it manages to stick to the mat. The when I get it off the mat and to the cake, it gets pleats and I can't smooth them out. If not pleats, I get air pockets. Darn it!! what am I doing wrong? I have on a few cakes taken the fondant off the cake and re-knead, and re-roll, and re-cover the cake. On one cake I did that 3 times! I love MMF, but it is giving me such a hard time. Any ideas?
I lightly grease the mat, and warm the fondant.
