Hi Forum!

This novice could really use your input. How do you calculate how much cake to make based on the number of guests?

For instance, I'm making cake for 200 people. My plan is to make a 3 tier (8, 10 &12) and then sheet cakes to be served. But I don't know how much is enough. Any pointers?

Check out earlenescakes.com She has a great chart that tells you everything you need to know.

Here are a couple of Wilton charts that might help in addition to Earlene's chart...

I really like this chart. It figures less servings per cake (I like to have a cushion), but most people prefer Earlenes or Wilton's.

Thanks everyone for your help!

One more question.... 11x15 sheet cake: how much batter should I use for that pan?
