I know there are a lot of posts on how to stack cakes, but I am not doing the traditional 2/3 tier cake. Im making a 3D dinosaur cake and will need to put it on top of a 1/4-1/2 sheet cake to make sure I have enough cake for the ppl coming. The dino cake only feeds 14-20 and I will have lots more ppl than that. What do you suggest to support the dino cake on top of the sheet cake?! HELP please!!!!

Here is the linnk to the dino cake icon_smile.gif

I would love to know what you came up with. My son is having a dino party and I am trying to figure out a cake. I love the picture you posted... any helpful hint would be great. icon_smile.gif

I think if you figure out where on the sheet cake you want to place the dino, place plenty of dowels into the cake to support it. I have a cake in my photos of a golf ball on a 9x13. I just made sure to add dowels to the spot where the ball would sit and it worked like a charm.

Oh, and make sure there's a board under the dino. Otherwise the dowels might just smoosh through the bottom sheet cake into him.
