I want to do a buttercream transfer on a first birthday cake for this weekend. I NEED HELP. I have only ever done one and didn't like the way that it looked (had lines through it).

Does anyone have any foolproof proven methods for doing these?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Elaine

I had lines in mine, too, and it drove me nuts. Here's what I did, don't know if it will help you. I outline the picture, color it in (make sure every part of the wax paper is covered), then outline it again. Then, I use thin, spreadable icing to put on the back. I use a star tip to put it on and then smooth it carefully so I don't ruin the picture. Then, I cover it with wax paper and smooth it down using the wax paper. Then, I freeze it (keep the top wax paper on). When I take it out, I take the top wax off, flip it over, take that wax paper off, and viola! HTH
