I have to do a magic theme, and the client would like a magic hat made out of fondant, anyone know how I would do that?

My first thought was to have the hat made out of cake and a bunny with fondant or decorating clay popping out of the hat. Is the client stuck to the hat being made out of fondant?

Or what about this ... you make a big bunny as the cake and have the bunny holding a hat (w/ a human coming out of it) out of fondant?

Thanks, but they want the theme on top of a 9 x21" slab of cake. So I have to make the hat to go on top of this. Not sure if i should do a 3d hat or a flat hat with gloves and the wand and stuff. Your idea was good!
