Help My Icing Keeps Falling Off......

I need some help I am not sure what I am doing wrong but my icing does not seem to want to stick to the side of the cake. Plus when I try to do decorations on the side somtimes they dont want to stick either. I dont use fondant I stick to Buttercream cause I have not yet found a fondant recipe I like yet. Any ideas what step I am doing wrong on my icing????

Maybe your icing to too stiff.

Or...................you may be another victim of the non-trans fat Crisco. This is a common problem....sliding icing.

Sounds too dry or stiff, try adding extra shortening or liquid.

::waves:: Hello, fellow SA'er! I have the same problem too, sometimes. Adding a little more liquid usually helps me. icon_rolleyes.gif

yeah, try thinning the icing down a bit!

I add 2 T corn syrup to mine, perhaps that will help you icon_smile.gif
