i need to know what to add to a cake mix i got a receipe to extend a cake mix but what do you add to make it moist is it milk or buttermilk i would appreceite anyone's help thanks dorothy from tenn

I add one cup of sourcream

Yup, sour cream always does the trick

oh, also sometimes I add flavored yogurt. You know, like strawberry to a strawberry cake mix, one cup.

THe other thing that is really good is if you have a white mix, you can add fruit nectar. In my store, we have several varieties. For example, white mix, white pudding, peach nectar (which is runny like water) TAKE OUT THE WATER, 1/3 oil, 3 egg whites, 2 cup peach yogurt. The combos are endless.

THe only time it doesn't work is when it is not fruit flavored. That's when I will use pudding and sourcream.
