I was wondering when you are going to get the FMM Funky letters and Uppercase script letters back in stock.
Thank-you
Have you used these? I got some online and i cant use them, these are the FMM script cut outs for letter right? Its soo not working out for me.
I'm having trouble with them also, very time consuming when I do get them to work. Any idea's from anyone would be great on the best way to get them to work.
Oh I thought it was just me. I even bought the Capital letters too, i ordered it from a catalog and didnt realize it was all stuck, I thought it ws similar to patchwork cutters, you cant even emboss anything becuase they are all in a row.
I might have to try to figure out how to saw them and use them as imprints or embossers. I am really annoyed becuase they were not cheap either!
Please let me know if you are able to do that, because that sounds good.(the Sawing) I love the way the letters look when I use them, just wish I could use them more.
The Funky letters from FMM should be back in stock by next week. The order is already on its way to us.
The best way to use them is with a 50/50 mix of gumpaste and fondant or all gumpaste. Be sure to roll it thin and dust with cornstarch before cutting.

You really should use gumpaste and you have to roll it paper thin. I repeatedly dip mine in cornstarch or brush the surface of the gumpaste with cornstarch before pressing down. Then I tap it on the table to force an edge to come off and gently pull the rest out.

Alan,
Thanks for the Tip, I think my problem is I was using it with all Fondant. It was just a horrible mess. I may not have to saw them off..he he he h he
Thanks all, I was using all fondant when using them and rolling to thick. Will try again.
I was just about to tell you all about Aine2's video on youtube & saw fondantfrezy had beaten me to the punch LOL. The tappits are really wonderful, I use them all the time. Another trick is rolling the sugarpaste & letting it dry slightly before cutting.
Thank you for posting that video and the info about what to use! I ordered these last week and was about to pull my hair out yesterday. I will try the gumpaste mix, and watch the video a couple times. Darn, she makes it look so easy!
Has anyone had any better success since first posting?
I have the capital letters and numbers set. I used them yesterday and lightly brushed some cornstarch on the fondant that I had rolled thin enough to see the mat markings through. No problem with sticking at all, though the insides of letters like B and R were a little tricky to get out cleanly.
I have had them for quite some time and have not been able to use them. What a mess! I hate the fact that they are all in a row too. If somebody figuers these out, please let us know.
I think the secret is rolling the strip of fondant or gumpaste both narrow and thin . Press firmly, wiggle it around a bit. They pop right out most times. You can also use a toothpick to coax on part out then the rest will come out easily using your fingers.
I love using the FMM letters too, I just roll a very thin strip let it dry a little then cut across ,but I still have problems with the letter "G" and "S" it keeps stretching .

okay I just got these and I want to throw them out the window!! I guess I should put more gumpaste in my fondant but still, even when I get them out of the cutters, they are so flimsy and floppy they are all messed up from trying to handle them! I was so excited for these too
