Has anyone made this cake? Many years ago, someone gave me the recipe. I noticed that every time I made it, it was very heavy as if it had dropped (it hadn't). Did anyone notice or was it the recipe I was given?

Thanks
Rosie

It may have been the recipe. I find Red Velvet to be a nice light cake. Although, I have to say I prefer a dark chocolate cake.

the recipe in Confetti Cakes, Elisa Strauss, is very nice. there are some in the recipe section that people like.

My feelings exactly. tapedshut.gif

Overmixing can result in a dense heavy cake.....
