How do you guys paint on the details on a fondant figure?? Do you use those markers or paint with food coloring? And if you use food coloring, what do you mix it with??? Thanks for the help in advance!

I always use color paste and if you want you can mix it with clear alcohol.

HTH.

I've only painted on fondant one time. It was on some Easter eggs. I used color gel and thined it down with clear vanilla extract. HTH.

You can use color gel and thin with vodka.....it dries quickly and the alcohol evaporates. I found the Wilton food writers to be difficult and didn't turn out the way I had hoped.
If the piece isn't going to be eaten, I found out on here that you can use scrapbooking pens that are acid free and non-toxic. A new one of course! I have used the pen before for fine details and it worked great!
